GP2GP is Changing - Auto Integration

Soon, GP2GP records will be automatically filed when a new patient registration takes place. This means no more manually reviewing entire records just to file them – saving time and reducing admin for receiving practices. The new practice can have access to the EHR immediately without having to rely on the administrative processes of the sending practice and reduce clinical risk by ensuring that clinicians have access to the full EHR immediately.

Ahead of the update, we recommend that practices complete all outstanding tasks in their GP2GP Workflow to ensure a smooth transition.

Once this functionality is live, registering a patient via the PDS Spine will automatically accept the GP2GP record too. It’s advised that practices have screening processes in place to handle incoming information efficiently.  All existing tasks and workflows triggered by a GP2GP move will remain in place.

Auto-integration of electronic health records (EHRs) will be rolled out between 8th April to 28 April, across all EMIS GP practices

This will prevent onward transfer of a patient’s EHR getting blocked - and reduce the risk of continuity issues when a patient moves across several practices.

We’ll be updating our GP2GP training resources to reflect this change. Keep an eye on this newsletter and our Facebook page for the latest updates.

Online Services Linkage Key Expiry

Did you know that the online services linkage key for patients to access their clinical records has an expiry date?

Patients have just 14 days to complete their online registration. If they don’t register within this timeframe, a new linkage key will be required.
