Welcome to July's edition of Academy Matters - Your IT Training Team (North) Newsletter. Summer vibes - At long last the summer has made an appearance and the school holidays are upon us. Hope you manage to get a summer break in but not swelter too much during the red alert heat days ☀️😎🌅⛺⛱️🍦

Don't forget - we don't just do the scheduled online training that is advertised and available on the Academy Portal. If the dates do not suit you get in touch with your designated IT Trainer to book alternative dates or for training tailored just for you / your practice.

Training Need Analysis

Our electronic Training Needs Analysis (TNA) forms have been updated! These could be used as part of your staff appraisals or as a separate agenda to assess training needs for the Emis clinical system.

Use them in house and then simply book in any training required with your Training Team (North) whether that's using our online sessions or tailored made session with your allocated trainer.

These will be available on the Academy Portal very soon but if you need it before then get in touch with us and we will get it to you.

The Digital Learning Solutions offers quality assured Digital Skills and Microsoft Office learning and assessment content. From basic digital literacy and skills through to advanced Microsoft Excel and Word training.

NHS Mail

Access an NHSmail Shared Mailbox

You can access a Shared Mailbox via the NHSmail web portal www.nhs.net by logging in as yourself first and selecting to open the shared mailbox from the email window.

Amend Users of an NHSmail Shared Mailbox

As an owner of an NHSmail Shared Mailbox you can amend the current owners and users via the NHSmail web portal www.nhs.net.  There is no need to log an IT Support call as the owner can make the changes online.

Keeping your NHSmail accounts Active

To keep your NHSmail accounts active you need to login to the account via the NHSmail web portal www.nhs.net and send a test email from the account every 90 days to keep the account active.

You will need to complete this action for all personal accounts, Non-true shared/Generic accounts and Shared Mailboxes.

As the NHSmail accounts are web based email accounts they need to be kept active via the web portal www.nhs.net even if you access them through the Microsoft Outlook desktop application
