Emis Web - Linked Problem Case
It has become apparent that when training clinicians in the Dummy System, new medication that is added to a new problem during a consultation, now results in the problem not being linked to the medication from either of the Medication and Problem tabs of the Care Record. It was assumed that this issue was related only to the Dummy system until a live practice were able to confirm that this issue is also affected. The training team raised a case with emis regarding this issue on 2 May 2025, as this affects Data Quality and system reporting.
Workaround
Emis has confirmed this is an issue in emis web:
'Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention, I have investigated and can confirm this is an issue in EMIS Web. A Problem Record (PRB) has been raised under reference PRB0052110, which will be passed to the relevant technical department for further review and a solution. Should this require development a fix will be created and released in a future EMIS Web version. Your case has now been linked to PRB0052110 and the workaround is "Click on the Medication select Edit > Problems > Link the Medication.". Your case will now be resolved. You can track the progress and expected release dates of any fixes on the Optum Help Centre https://www.optumhelpcentre.co.uk/csm referencing PRB0052110'.

The Problem details show this issue was first logged in September of 2024 and then for a second time last week by our team.
Create Case
Emis has confirmed that the greater the number of cases brought against the PRB, the higher the likelihood of seeking a resolution. We are therefore kindly asking practices affected to create a new case referencing PRB0052110. To save time, the ‘Steps to reproduce’ and ‘Expected Results’ can be copied from the existing Problem details (shown above).

Documented evidence (including screen shots) to replicate the steps can be found against the Case that we raised on 2 May 2025:
