FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

(This section will be updated as the queries are raised following the sessions)

Why is my practice data showing a number of 'inconsistently mapped slots'?

Inconsistently mapped slots are appointment types that have been mapped, but not to a Care Related Encounter. These are assigned to the ‘Inconsistent Mapping’ context type with further analysis planned to establish whether new categories in future releases are needed, or additional assistance and guidance is required for mapping.
For further information access the
NHS Digital website Appointments in General Practice Information

How does this impact on appointments where real-time arrive, seen and left data isn't accurate (such as home visits)?

Lists / Untimed appointments are not included in the data analysed, so if home visits / telephone triage patients are included in an untimed list, they won't be counted.

For timed appointments, Emis calculates the appointment duration as the difference between 'PatientInTime' and 'PatientOutTime'.  For a full explanation access the NHS Digital Website
