Welcome to February

Hello & Welcome to the February 2024 edition of Academy Matters - Your IT Training Team (North) Newsletter.

After a slightly slower start, 2024 has begun in earnest. February has been a whirlwind of activity for the Training Team mixed in with half term annual leave! Lots of clinical new starters - This month alone, we're offering over 200 places on our online Clinician/Admin New Starter training sessions!

New projects beckon and plenty of updates for existing, ongoing priorities.

Online Visibility 300Px

Online Visibility

IMPORTANT: Following a number of reports of adverse and potentially unfortunate incidents being reported in relation to patients accessing information held in their records before a clinician has had ample opportunity to consult with them, we are reminding practices of the need to inform all practice staff to read and familiarise themselves with the options available in Emis Web to 'do not display on the patient's online care record'.  This impacts staff dealing with:

  • Consultations
  • Fit Notes
  • Prescriptions
  • Test Results
  • Inbound Electronic Documents
  • Scanned Documents
  • Referrals

Please see our guide 'Getting ready for Prospective Record Access' for full details on how to redact information until it is ready to be viewed / accessed by the patient (or any proxy users linked to their account)
